Denzel Davis-Jennifer

Board Chair

As the Board Chair of ITNMemphis, Denzel brings over a decade of experience in brand content marketing, backed by a strong foundation in communication, marketing, branding, and design. His deep understanding of brand narratives and their power to engage audiences has been a driving force throughout his career.

 

Denzel’s expertise extends far beyond traditional marketing. His innovative approach and ability to execute creative strategies have consistently strengthened brand visibility and driven measurable growth. With skills in creative writing, design, and visual storytelling, he stands out as a dynamic leader in the field of brand content marketing.

 

Over the years, Denzel has held various positions that have refined his expertise and reflected his commitment to lifelong learning. He remains attuned to evolving industry trends, ensuring that his marketing strategies are always effective, forward-thinking, and relevant. This combination of curiosity and practical experience fuels his ability to lead with vision and impact.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Denzel enjoys traveling with his partner and exploring the latest in tech innovations.

Reverend Dr. Mark Matheny

Founding Board Member

Reverend Doctor Mark Matheny has been involved with ITNMemphis since 2010 and has served on the board since 2011. Matheny retired as the Senior Minister at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Memphis. Dr. Matheny now works with several other non-profits in the community, such as Highland Area Renewal Corporation (HARC) and United Methodist Neighborhood Centers of Memphis. 

  

A native of Hattiesburg, MS, Rev. Matheny is a third-generation United Methodist minister who received degrees from Millsaps College, Southern Methodist University and Emory University. 

Pat Hickman

Acting Operations Manager

Pat Hickman has served on the Board of ITNMemphis since its inception in 2010. She also serves as an officer for the Highland Area Renewal Corporation (HARC), which served as the fiduciary agent for Friends of ITNMemphis before 501 (c) 3 status and affiliation with ITNAmerica was secured. She volunteered to be the Acting Operations Manager in July 2014 to carry the program to its first ride in December 2014. 

  

In October 2016 she received the ITNAmerica Volunteer of the Year Award. She is an elder at Buntyn Presbyterian Church where ITNMemphis offices are located. Hickman hold a BS in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and an MS in Education from the University of Memphis. 

Caroline Sweeney

Board Member

Caroline “Vickie” Sweeney is retired from Baptist Memorial Hospital and is currently a rider with ITNMemphis. She is a graduate of Kingsbury High School. She is an avid Memphis Grizzlies and University of Memphis fan. 

Michael Bradshaw

Board Member

Michael J. Bradshaw, Jr. is an attorney with Butler Snow Law firm in Memphis as a member of the Public Finance, Tax Incentives and Credit Markets group. He is admitted to the Bar in Tennessee, Georgia and the District of Columbia. 

Advisory Board

Dan Murrell

Advisory Board Member

Dan H. Murrell, CFRE, is the founding board president of ITNMemphis where he served until 2013. His interest in senior transportation issues stems from his time as Director of Development and Community Relations at Trezevant Manor, a continuing care retirement community in Memphis, TN. He and friend, Fred Wimmer, recognized the need for such a service and set out to bring an affiliate of ITNAmerica to Memphis. 

  

Murrell has been in nonprofit development work since 1997 and is now Director of Planned Giving at the University of Memphis. He earned the CFRE accreditation in 2008, the only internationally-recognized baseline professional credential for philanthropic fundraising executives. 

Rev. Chris Carter

Advisory Board Member

Reverend Chris Carter joined the Advisory Board in 2016 after serving 3 years on the Board of Directors as Congregational Liaison with Christ United Methodist Church. He continues to serve in this role as liaison. He is Teaching Pastor and Executive Director of Men and Senior Adult programs at CUMC. Rev. Carter received his B.A. in English Literature and Biblical Education from Lee University in Cleveland TN, and a M. Div. in Pastoral Ministry and D. Min. from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky.

Brandis Leverette

Executive Director

Mr. Brandis Leverette is an accomplished nonprofit executive and community leader with a career devoted to strengthening organizations and improving lives. He has held leadership roles with several mission-driven organizations, guiding teams and programs that empower individuals to thrive. His professional journey includes experience in education, workforce development, reentry services, and youth engagement, where he has designed and implemented programs that create lasting change for individuals and families.

 

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Leverette is deeply committed to service and leadership development. He currently serves as Board Chair of the Memphis Leadership Foundation and as a member of the Greater Memphis Leadership Board for Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

 

Known for his collaborative leadership style and results-driven approach, Mr. Leverette continues to inspire others through his commitment to excellence, innovation, and service. A Michigander turned lifelong Memphian, he remains dedicated to building stronger communities and creating opportunities for others to succeed.
